You’ve seen it on our products: Complete Spectrum CBD. Complete Spectrum CBD sounds great and all, but what is it, and how do they compare Full Spectrum CBD vs complete spectrum vs. Isolate products?

Let’s start with a look at the hemp plant.

Where Does CBD Come from?

For thousands of years, hemp was grown for fiber and used in items such as clothes and rope. For this reason, many of the cannabinoids were bred out of the plant to increase fiber production.

Sadly, many companies throughout the world use these strains of hemp for their CBD. It’s low quality, but it’s cheap. It allows them to produce massive quantities and cash in on the CBD rage.

Unfortunately, because hemp and CBD products are not well regulated yet, these low-quality CBD products can be sold as Full Spectrum CBD.

Full Spectrum vs Complete Spectrum CBD

If CBD contains at least three or four cannabinoids, it is considered Full Spectrum. By adding this label to CBD products, consumers know that a brand’s CBD contains at least a few cannabinoids.

Full Spectrum CBD Oil is simply an oil made from a hemp plant that has gone through limited refinement. This means that everything in the plant makes it to the oil and nothing is removed. Popular variations of CBD oil include ones that remove either THC or compounds other than CBD.

Complete Spectrum is a grade higher than Full Spectrum, requiring special strains, growth care and refinement, and manufacturing excellence for hemp

Complete Spectrum CBD

At 4 Corners Cannabis, we take Full Spectrum CBD Oil a step further. First and foremost, we manage our entire production process—from soil to oil. All of our hemp flowers are grown from clones of high CBD genetics to ensure they consistently produce a wide spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

Next, we use USDA Certified Organic Sugar Cane Ethanol (95% alcohol) to extract the CBD oil from the plants. This solvent-based extraction method draws out the most robust range of cannabinoids and preserves the essential terpenes and flavonoids. [Side note: many companies use hydrocarbon extractions (like propane, butane, heptane, etc.) to process the CBD.

Even with the most sophisticated methods, it’s impossible to purge 100% of the solvent from the final product. By using food-grade Organic Sugar Cane Ethanol, we are ensuring that every ingredient in our products promotes good health.

After the oil is extracted from ground hemp flowers (at -80 degrees celsius), it is triple filtered to remove any unnecessary plant matter. We then distill the extract to remove the alcohol— and voila! — we have made Complete Extract Cannabis Oil containing over 60% CBD, one of the highest regarded quality CBD products on the market.

Broad Spectrum CBD

By adding two steps to the extraction process, we are able to eliminate the THC from our products. These are simply additional distillation and filtration processes.  For those with jobs that require them to pass a drug test periodically, this product is perfect. Our THC Free products are better than other brands because for the same reason our complete spectrum beats their full spectrum!

CBD Isolate Products

CBD isolate products are the most refined and concentrated form of CBD available. These products go through additional extraction steps to pull everything from the product except for the CBD. Thanks to modern manufacturing, CBD Isolates are up to 99% CBD.

Unlike most CBD products, isolate comes in a tasteless fine white powder that is easy to mix into food and drink. The major drawback of isolate is it misses out on the benefits of the entourage effect.

COMPLETE SPECTRUM CBD AND THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT

Complete Spectrum CBD offers more than just cannabinoids; it contains the essential oils (terpenes) and flavonoids that promote the entourage effect.

What is the entourage effect? According to Healthline, some “research suggests that CBD’s therapeutic effects are stronger when combined with other cannabis compounds, including terpenes, flavonoids, and lesser-known cannabinoids.” This is known as the entourage effect.

Cannabis Tech further explains that “the therapeutic effects of cannabis compounds arise from their capacity to bind with naturally occurring endocannabinoid receptors in the brain and throughout the central nervous system.”

In other words, all mammals have an endocannabinoid system, which includes two major receptors. The CB1 & CB2 receptors absorb and bind with different cannabinoids, allowing them to influence the nervous system. Some research and anecdotal evidence support the fact that CBD is more beneficial when combined with small amounts of THC and the complete spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

Thanks to the fact that we control the entire process of our CBD oil, we are able to make sure that you benefit as much as possible from the entourage effect

Complete vs Full Spectrum Conclusion

So, what’s the biggest difference when comparing Full Spectrum vs. Complete Spectrum CBD vs. Isolates?

Complete Spectrum CBD is more potent, more well-rounded, and has a stronger effect than the average Full Spectrum CBD on the market.

If you’re looking for CBD that is of the highest quality and provides the greatest impact, you can’t go wrong with Complete Spectrum CBD!
